I recently had the honor of being interviewed for The American Masculinity Podcast, created and hosted by my good friend and trusted colleague, Timothy Wienecke, MA, LPC, LAC. Tim and I first met as classmates in graduate school, and while our paths have taken us in different directions, they’ve both led to meaningful private practices.

Today, I focus on supporting the LGBTQIA+, Kink, and Non-Monogamous communities. Tim, on the other hand, has dedicated his work to serving men, Veterans, and First Responders through his practice, Empowered Change Counseling & Education. You can learn more about his incredible work here.
Despite the differences in our client populations, Tim and I share a deep commitment to Narrative Therapy. We have often challenged and supported each other in developing our clinical voices, and I was thrilled when Tim launched a podcast to explore masculinity through a thoughtful, therapeutic lens.
So, when he invited me to join him for a conversation on the intersections of masculinity and kink, I jumped at the chance. I'm excited to share our episode with you:
"Kink and Masculinity: Rethinking Power and Vulnerability with a Kink Therapist"
In this episode, we explore:
How masculinity influences kink dynamics and practices
The interplay of power, submission, and vulnerability
Common misconceptions and myths around certain kinks
How kink can be a pathway to healing
Safer ways to explore kink and enter spaces with intention
Challenges often faced by kink-aware male clients
– And much more
You can access this episode on Spotify here or on Apple here.
